Webcam Application (Processing)

atom_boy.jpg

This is a screenshot from a little application I built with Processing. It takes the data from your webcam in realtime, and turns you into a bunch of atoms. The mouse controls the size of the atoms on the horizontal axis and a click will render out the current frame as a jpeg.

I’d never used processing before but had heard such good things about it at Flash on the Beach, that I decided to have a tinker. If you have Java installed you can download the standalone application here, or if you feel like downloading Processing you can download the source code here-> (right click, and save as).

Obviously you’ll need a webcam to get this to work and if you are on a mac it should run without any problems, I haven’t had the chance to test it on a PC so if anyone has any problems, please let me know.
